Yukon Eyecare Professionals is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our thriving, patient-centered practice in the heart of Fairbanks, Alaska. As an integral part of our team, the Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular diseases, and provide exceptional care tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. Our clinic specializes in advanced dry eye and glaucoma treatments, including IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy and SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty), offering a unique opportunity to practice at the forefront of optometric care.

This position offers an excellent work-life balance with a 4-5 day work week, no weekends, and the opportunity to practice in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages.
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
• Provide specialty treatments, such as IPL and SLT (training provided if necessary).
• Prescribe corrective lenses and educate patients on eyewear options.
• Co-manage surgical patients with local ophthalmologists.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records using our EHR system.
• Collaborate with a team of skilled professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
• Educate patients on preventive eye care, nutrition, and lifestyle factors influencing ocular health.

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
• Active Alaska optometry license (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Strong clinical skills in medical optometry and primary eye care.
