Located in the busy Kanawha City area of Charleston, West Virginia, Charleston Vision Source is an established, but growing, practice under new ownership in 2023.
Located within an hour of the New and Gauley Rivers and whitewater rafting, hiking trails and the New River Gorge National Park, Summersville Lake, and the Hatfield-McCoy trail system, and within three hours of Snowshoe Mountain, Canaan Valley, Greenbrier Resort, and more. Charleston is located within a few hours drive of Columbus, Cincinnati, Louisville, Lexington, and Pittsburgh.
Our team is dedicated to providing primary eye care, including medical optometry, contact lenses, and family eye care to our Charleston community.
Our practice is looking for a doctor who wants to put down roots to give the best care to our patients, serve our community, and be a participating member of our West Virginia Association of Optometric Physicians. Interested 4th year students, new grads, or young or established ODs are welcome.
Dr. Suppa joined Charleston Vision Source in July 2014 and purchased the practice in January 2023. She graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2013 with a Doctorate in Optometry. She was Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity (VOSH) President, a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society, a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, and received the Henry Hofstetter award for leadership and service. In 2014, she completed a highly regarded residency in Ocular Disease at the Huntington VA Medical Center. A Charleston native, she graduated from George Washington High School in 2004 and from West Virginia University in 2007 with a B.A. in Biology.
Dr. Suppa is the 2024-2025 President of the West Virginia Association of Optometry Physicians. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association, SECO, and the American Academy of Optometry. In November of 2014, she became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In November of 2017, she was named West Virginia Young Optometrist of the Year. In April of 2022, she was awarded the AOA's Federal Advocate of the Year Award. In September of 2023, she was awarded the Early Career Award from the Indiana University School of Optometry. She is also a past-president of the Junior League of Charleston.
West Virginia Optometry License - WV has full scope of prescribing and surgical procedures, excluding lasers at this time.
