Waco is halfway between the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex and Austin. While known for our famous neighbors at Magnolia and the Western White House, we are home to one of the best small zoos in the nation. Our Cameron Park along the banks of the Brazos River is second in size only to Central Park in NYC, and offers kayaking, hiking/biking trails, and much more. Recent growth has brought an abundance of new restaurants, making us a haven for foodies. We are home to two Top 50 Texas Monthly BBQ winners and Baylor University. See more at www.inwaco.com .
Waco Vision Source is passionate about private practice. We completed a 100% renovation in 2021 to bring even more of the best technology in eye care to our patients. Our practice has consistently outpaced national averages year after year, and our team is excited to continue our growth.

We joke that Waco is the biggest small town you'll ever find. An outgoing personality and a heart for community service will be a must to establish patient base as our new associate engages in our town and becomes part of it.
Optometric patient care including the diagnosis, treatment and maintenance of vision and ocular health conditions. Interest in any specialty is welcome. A Texas license is required. We encourage our ODs to pursue Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry and Diplomate status with the American Board of Optometry.

While both of our doctors practice full scope optometry, Dr. Virden's interests lie in specialty/scleral contact lenses and preventive eyecare (especially AMD). Dr Sander's enjoys pediatrics and myopia management, and we are looking for an associate to join us long-term to continue to offer more patients the opportunity to join our practice. Waco Vision Source is always at the forefront of our profession--even using electronic medical records in 2001. All lanes have Marco automated refracting systems with Optos retinal imaging standard for every patient. We also utilize Adapt Dx early detection for ARM, Optovue OCT with angio, Zeiss v...isual fields, topography, axial length tracking, Neurolens testing, and IPL/LLLT treatments for dry eye. We have more plans for the future! Our practice encourages continued staff learning and cross-training. We empower our team to do what it takes to make a day at the office run smoothly for both patients, other staff, and our doctors.
Dr. Virden is a Past-President of the Texas Optometric Association and a Vision Source Administrator. She speaks nationally for Bausch + Lomb and Neurolens. Over the past two decades she served on boards for the Humane Society of Central Texas, Animal Birth Control Clinic, the City of Waco Animal Welfare Board, and the Junior League of Waco. Dr. Sanders is a 3rd generation Baylor grad who is excited to be able to live and work in her adopted hometown.Waco Vision Source is passionate about private practice.
