SUMMARY

The position will be an Optometrist providing direct and comprehensive primary, preventive, and therapeutic optometric care to individuals across the spectrum of age and development.

• Utilizes advanced optometric procedures and instrumentation to diagnose, treat, and manage ocular disorders and diseases.
• Orders diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies.
• Determines proper remedial alternative, discusses, and interprets findings with the patient.
• Provides patient and family education regarding ocular health issues.
• Evaluates, manages, and triages emergent non-surgical eye conditions.
• Collaborates with other optometrists, ophthalmologists, physicians, technicians, and administrators to facilitate care to meet common healthcare goals.
• Ensures preparation and completion of comprehensive medical records in a timely appropriate manner in compliance with applicable guidelines.
• Maintains clinical competence through continuing medical education, self-study, review of professional journals, and proficiency training.
• Provides emergency pm-call consultation and care as directed.
• Uphold all principles of confidentiality, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Interact in an honest, trustworthy, and dependable manner with patients, employees, and vendors.
• Cooperates and effectively communicates with all staff members and physicians about patient matters.

• Most of the time on the job is spent walking and sitting.
• At times, the job may require weight to be lifted to 50 pounds.

• Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• Doctor of Optometry Degree (OD) from a school accredited by the Accreditation Council of Optometric Association (ACOE)

License/Certification:

• Optometry License (Required)

About Eye Specialists of Mid-Florida, PA

Eye Specialists of Mid-Florida is private physician owned practice which began as a small ophthalmology/optometry practice in downtown Winter Haven in the early 1960s.Through the 1970s & 1980s, the practice continued to experience growth and diversity with addition of several doctors, optometrists and ophthalmologists. After outgrowing their existing location, a new clinic and ambulatory surgery center were built in Winter Haven in the early 1990s and another in Sebring a few years later. It was during this time the doctors moved toward more specialized treatment areas and changed the name of the practice to Eye Specialists of Mid- Florida, Paver the next two decades, Eye Specialists continued to expand its services into other communities in the Central Florida area, including Lakeland, Haines City, Clermont, Sebring, and Winter Haven to better serve the needs of our patients.
