“I joined this practice because of the talented surgeons and the reviews my patients gave after visiting this team for surgical care. Patients always raved about how kind the staff were to them and how they felt listened to. I wanted to work for a company whose number one focus was patient care and one who worked well with local O.D.s. Working for this group has been such a great pleasure and has allowed me to grow even more as an OD. The team we have is top notch and I always feel heard and appreciated by the leadership team. I just wish I had found this opportunity sooner!” - Optometrist on staff.

Graystone Eye is an ophthalmology practice that was originally established as Harris, Foster and Lefler, PA, founded in 1969 by Drs. William Harris, Dr. Thomas Foster and Dr. Hampton Lefler. In 1973, these founding physicians had a new office constructed near Catawba Hospital and shared that space with ENT physicians, subsequently becoming known as Graystone Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat. In 1977, the practice became Graystone Ophthalmology Associates with the joining of Dr. Randal Williams; and, in 1993 Graystone inherited their Lenoir office with the acquisition of Lenoir Eye Care Clinic. During that 16-year span, the founding physicians of Graystone also opened the original Lincolnton office.
