Biloxi and surrounding areas are one of the fastest growing markets in the state of Alabama, and you will hit the ground running, but not on your own. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a practice with a pediatric ophthalmologist, a large referral base, and an academic affiliation with the University of South Alabama.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in conducting eye exams, diagnosing, and treating various eye conditions and possess excellent communication skills and works collaboratively with our team of healthcare professionals. Furthermore, you will love working with us if you are interested in applying the newest technologies and trends within our field.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive eye exams and diagnose patients vision and eye health
• Perform various diagnostic tests and evaluations such as refractometry, slit lamp examination, retinoscopy, and tonometry.
• Diagnose and treat common eye conditions and diseases, referring to specialists as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries, including LASIK, PRK, Cataract surgery.
• Educate proper eye care, including nutrition, hygiene, and vision enhancement exercises.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Stay up to date on the latest advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education activities.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
• State licensure as an optometrist and eligibility for DEA registration
• Strong clinical skills and experience in eye care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multispecialty eye care practice.
