The practice is based on a medical model and sees a large volume of patients daily. We see a wide array of patients ranging from the medically complex to primary care and including specialty contact lens fits. Doctors are assisted by a well-trained staff of certified technicians and scribes to help you care for patients in an efficient manner. We are a fully electronic/paperless practice with an EMR system that is ideal for the documentation of medical ophthalmic care. Candidates should be comfortable seeing patients in a fast-paced environment. Optometrist Recruitment Package
To all new grads, residents established clinicians:
We are a progressive eye care company with a vision toward the future, your future. We at Eye Center of Virginia believe that optometry will have an ever-increasing role in the delivery of quality medical eye care well into the future. You have chosen a great profession with boundless opportunities. You will have the ability to make it what you want, have flexibility of hours, the opportunity for continued advancement, lifelong learning/education, and the privilege of continued expansion of your scope of practice only limited by your willingness to learn and advance your training.
These are facts; the aging population is growing, the number of Americans with accessible health care has grown exponentially due to the affordable healthcare act, and the number of ophthalmology residency slots is decreasing. Optometry is in the driver’s seat, and ideally positioned to take over the role of gatekeeper for all eye care; our future is in our own hands. Virginia is a great place to practice and has enjoyed an ever-expandin...g scope to include injectables and most recently laser surgery.
Eye Center of Virginia simply desires to be the destination location for total eye care in the region. We offer the most advanced diagnostic and treatment technology available today and stay informed about new technologies and treatments coming up in the future. We are at the forefront of innovation and new developments in the field. Due to our experience in the medical and surgical eyecare field, the practice also stays on top of the latest surgical advancements for retina, glaucoma, cataract and refractive surgery and oculoplastics.
We have doubled our office productivity in a year and a half. Soon (2023) we plan on a major renovation and building project that will make us the primary site for eye care in the Tidewater area. Eye Center of Virginia is looking for qualified licensed optometrist candidates with a long-term view. This is a great opportunity for those interested in working either as an associate or a partnership track. Our facility will be expanding from 2800 sq. ft. to almost 8,000 sq. ft. in 2023. The office will have a 1500 sq. ft. optical gallery with all the latest designer frames, and in office lab. Our clinic will soon expand to twelve exam lanes when we will add a third doctor. Our Optometrist position offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid vacation, health, dental, and CE stipend. There may be some light travel involved when satellite offices are developed. We would entertain associates, as well as those with an interest in a partnership track.
You will practice optometry to the fullest extent of your license with complete autonomy. You make your practice what you want it. Develop a specialty if you so choose. We will be happy to interview all applicants; new grads, residents, or doctors in the workforce looking for a new and better opportunity. Residency-trained optometrists with specialty training in ocular disease and surgical co-management, cornea and specialty contact lens fittings, low vision, sports vision, and pediatrics will be given special consideration. A generous salary and benefits package puts your income-earning potential in your own hands.
