Fantastic opportunity for a Doctor of Optometry to join a premier medical/surgical eye center in the southeast. The Eye Physicians and Surgeons of Augusta have an immediate opening for a full time, licensed Optometrist, who will spend time in both our main facility in Augusta GA, and our satellite office in Aiken SC. 

WHO ARE WE: We are a premier physician owned medical/surgical eye center in the southeast. The Eye Physicians and Surgeons of Augusta, known locally as “Eye Guys” have an immediate opening for a full time optometrist. Our practice consists of 6 MDs, 3 ODs, and approximately 130 additional staff members.  The main office is approximately 35,000 sq/ft and has over thirty exam lanes to accommodate a growing practice.  There is a state-of-the-art Lasik center with the newest Wavelight technology and an ASC which utilizes a LenSx laser for our premium cataract surgeries.  We have a full complement of certified technicians who perform work ups and scribe for our doctors. Our diagnostic equipment consists of Epic refracting suites, fully equipped exam lanes integrated with EMR and image management, OCT’s, VF’s, slit lamp photography, Optos photography, Lipiflow, specular microscopy, topography, OPDs, and much more. At our main office, our primary focus is on medical eye exams, so we do not have an optical.  Our satellite office does have an onsite optical and therefore allows for the opportunity to perform routine eye exams and contact lens fittings.  Since this position will focus on both medical and routine optometric services, the ideal candidate would have medical training in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease.  You’ll be participating in surgical post-op care, treating diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, FB removal, lacrimal probing/irrigation, Prokera graft placement, emergency eye care, refractions, contact lens fits and much more.

OUR LOCATION: Augusta is home to the Masters Golf Tournament, conveniently located at the Georgia-South Carolina border along the banks of the Savannah River and within a short drive to sandy beaches or Blue Ridge Mountains. With numerous city parks, protected Sumpter National Forest and massive Clarks Hill Lake, Augusta is ideal place for outdoor enthusiast.  You’ll find endless opportunities for activities like kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking, boating, camping and more.  It is a great place to raise a family with nationally recognized schools along with a low cost of living.

BENEFTIS PACKAGE: We offer a guaranteed starting base salary of $150,000 with potential of earning $200,000 in year 2, a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, disability, accident, hospitalization, 401K, malpractice insurance, license fees, continuing education allowance, professional dues allowance, 4 weeks’ PTO annually and a $10,000 moving allowance. We are closed on the following holidays: New Years day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Occasionally the OD team will rotate seeing post operative surgery patients on Christmas Eve. If one of these holidays fall on the weekend we will be closed on the Friday before or on the following Monday.   

FULL TIME POSITION: This is a full-time Monday through Friday position. The OD team will rotate Saturdays to see postoperative patients only from 9 am to noon. When you work a Saturday post operative clinic you will get a full day off during the week. You can expect to work every 4th Saturday! There are a few exceptions where we are not operating on Friday.
