We are looking for a caring, hardworking, optometrist to join our team. Yakima Eye Specialists has a long history in the community with ophthalmology beginnings. We see patients for routine comprehensive eye exams, and medical eye examinations. We practice full scope optometry and want an optometric physician who enjoys practicing medically positioned care. We have a procedure room with lasers and operating microscope in the anticipation that as the scope of practice changes, these instruments can be incorporated into patient care. Extensive tech support available to help you be as efficient as possible. We have a solid, loyal patient base.
Description of Practice
Busy, well-established full scope practice needs a full-time Optometrist –
All equipment needed to keep a modern eye care facility at the cutting edge of technology Automated VF, OCT (ant and post), topo, Epic autorefraction, pachymetry, fundus photography, B-scan, Slit lamp photography
Techs routinely do all pre-testing, special testing
Possibility of scribe if production warrants

Requirements
Doctor of Optometry degree (OD)
Washington State Optometrist License
Residency training and/or experience in a medical setting preferred but not required

An experienced clinician, or a new graduate with the ability to learn quickly will be welcome!
Residency and ABO certification is desirable but not required. The drive to continuously advance and perform at full scope of practice, is mandatory. The ideal candidate should provide proficient, compassionate and enthusiastic care to patients in an energetic and steady work environment.
•A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics
•Excellent clinical and communication skills
•Ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes
•Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
•Valid Washington state license to practice optometry
•Strong computer skills and EHR experience
Medical optometrist will:
•serve patients of all ages leaning more towards geriatric care
•see/treat/manage a great deal of eye disease
•serve a well-established patient base
•have the autonomy to develop your own practice within the group while enjoying the ability to immediately consult a colleague just by walking down the hall
