As a growing Federally Qualified Health Center, with two established vision clinics that boast excellent state of the art equipment, we are looking to add a leadership member to guide our vision team.
The Director of Vision Services is responsible for all patient care and related work activities within the vision clinics at Lorain County Health & Dentistry. Working closely with the CMO other members of the leadership team as necessary, the Director of Vision Services is responsible for implementing and identifying optometric health outcomes to be included in the annual Board-approved Quality Improvement Plan, which includes monitoring, measuring and improving relevant clinical, operational and financial indicators. The Director of Vision Services supervises, evaluates and holds accountable members of the vision team. Through effective planning, budgeting and working closely with the CMO and other members of the leadership team as directed, the Director of Vision Services seeks opportunities to enhance the care and services provided in the vision clinics to further meet the needs of the target population.
The Director of Vision also treats patients daily in addition to built in administrative time. The Director of Vision Services provides comprehensive vision care to patients of all ages. This includes, but is not limited to prescribing, coordinating and dispensing eyeglasses. The Director of Vision Services coordinates the care of chronic eye conditions, needed annual screenings and acute eye care needs. At Lorain County Health & Dentistry, the Director of Vision Services and all other optometrists are expected to develop long term relationships with their patients and their patient’s caregiver, provide patient informed individualized healthcare recommendations and plans and offer ongoing support and advice as needed in accordance with Lorain County Health & Dentistry’s philosophy of “partnership” with patients while integrating its values of Respect, Quality, Compassion and Hope.
