Oregon Trail Eye Care of Southeast Idaho is looking to hire a full time optometrist associate, potential partnership opportunity, to work Monday through Thursday.  The best part is that the local school districts are in school Monday through Thursday too!  Enjoy three day weekends with the whole family every weekend (except holiday weekends, then enjoy a four-day weekend)! 

Location, location, location!  If you’re into big city shopping and crowds of people, this is not the place for you.  On the other hand, if you enjoy the outdoors and the different seasons, this could be the location you’ve been looking for.  Hiking, biking, camping, horseback riding, dirt biking, street biking, UTV riding, hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, pretty much any summer activity can be enjoyed here.  In the winter there’s snowmobiling, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, backcountry skiing and boarding, snowboarding, snow shoeing, again, anything you can think of.  Bear Lake is known as the “Caribbean of the Rockies” because of the unique beautiful turquoise waters.  The locals call their homes “staycations” because this is where people from big cities go on vacation.  When you live here, you never want to go anywhere else, you just stay here whenever you take time off.  A five-minute drive from your front door gets you into the mountains for any of those activities previously noted.  In 30 minutes you can have your boat in the waters of Bear Lake, the Alexander Reservoir, or the Blackfoot Reservoir.  Within a forty-five minute drive you can be on the slopes of either Beaver Mountain Ski Resort, or Pine Creek Ski Resort.  We are 2.5 hours away from Teton National Park, or 3.5 hours to Yellowstone National Park.  In less than 3 hours you can be to Salt Lake International Airport if for some reason you do need to get away.

Oregon Trail Eye Care is a two location practice established in 2008.  We have an office in Montpelier, Bear Lake county, Idaho, and another 30 miles away in Soda Springs, Caribou county, Idaho.  These are rural farming and mining communities in the mountains of southeast Idaho.  A great place to raise kids and teach them a good work ethic.  The nearest larger cities are Logan, Utah, and Pocatello, Idaho.  Each are about 70 miles away.  There are no other optometrists or ophthalmologists in the immediate area.  We treat all ages, and all diseases but have great referral relationships established with surgeons in the larger cities.   

The primary office in Soda Springs has special testing equipment including Zeiss Humphrey Field Analyzer 3 visual field, and Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT 4000.  There are two exam lanes at each location and are currently running VISIONIX VX55 automated phoropters in one lane at each location.  We have invested in two new Topcon lanes waiting delivery and installation.  These will have the CV5000 Digital Phoropter systems.  We are a Vision Source practice and believe in staff development and training.  The doctor works with a scribe so they can focus on patient care and education while trusting the scribe with the data entry and charting.
