Position Summary    

Provide optometric professional services as set forth by the Vision Professionals Board to patients of MVP. The care shall be rendered in a manner consistent with the mission statement of MVP. The Optometrist shall also support the practice with guidance from the board of directors as described below.

Responsibilities

• Primary clinical care and post-surgical care
• On call and emergency coverage including hospital consultation where privileges have been granted
• Supports the optometric services of the practice such as participation in the co-management program, the optometric newsletter and networking with consulting/referring optometrists
• Participates in lecturing at continuing education meetings
• Helps provide technical training to staff
• Assists in refractive surgery consultations
• Serves as preceptor to optometry externs
• Leadership and professional development in local and national medical societies
• Contributes to strategic planning and initiatives
• Participates in community outreach
• Adheres to organizational policy and procedure
• Adheres to service excellence standards of performance
• Communicates effectively and professionally with physicians, co-workers, management and patients

Education Requirements    

• Doctorate of Optometry

Certification Requirements 

• Active Ohio License in good standing with the Vision Professionals Board

Hours

• 7:30am – 4:00pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
• 7:30am – 7:00pm on Tuesday
• No weekends or on-call
