Provide optometric professional services as set forth by the Vision Professionals Board to patients of MVP. The care shall be rendered in a manner consistent with the mission statement of MVP. The Optometrist shall also support the practice with guidance from the board of directors as described below.
Primary clinical care and post-surgical care
On call and emergency coverage including hospital consultation where privileges have been granted
Supports the optometric services of the practice such as participation in the co-management program, the optometric newsletter and networking with consulting/referring optometrists
Participates in lecturing at continuing education meetings
Helps provide technical training to staff
Assists in refractive surgery consultations
Serves as preceptor to optometry externs
Leadership and professional development in local and national medical societies
Contributes to strategic planning and initiatives
Participates in community outreach
Adheres to organizational policy and procedure
Adheres to service excellence standards of performance
Communicates effectively and professionally with physicians, co-workers, management and patients
