About https://www.myunionhealth.org/jobs/community-living/
Medical Optometrist Hospital based eye department consisting of ophthalmologists and optometrists seeking optometrists to practice medical optometry. Our optometrists are the front-line providers of the eye department and play a major role in our patient's overall health. They communicate with our network of physicians in the community as they share care of our patients. This optometrist position presents the opportunity to diagnose and treat eye diseases and disorders along with routine vision exams. In addition to glasses and contacts, the optometrist must be comfortable and competent in the diagnosis and management of eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, foreign body removal, dry eye, infections and conditions that cause inflammation of the eye. They must also be comfortable seeing eye emergencies that present to the clinic as well as prescribe ocular and oral medications and facilitate referrals when necessary. Additionally the optometrist will participate in pre & post op care for cataract surgery patients. And serve as a liaison to our other optometrists. Our goal is to create a high standard of eye care through a collaborative work e...nvironment comprised of ophthalmologists and optometrists. This clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for diagnosing and treating all ocular conditions. There is a strong clinic staff with years of experience used to high volume clinic flow. As we said before our medical optometrists are the cornerstone of the clinic and drive patient care, surgery, and comprehensive vision examinations.
