Columbia Eye Clinic and Surgery Center is currently seeking 2 Optometrists. We are located in the heart of SC, with only 2.5 hours to the coast and 2.5 hours to the mountains. Columbia is known for being "famously hot, with summer temperatures matching the many fun things to do in SC's capital city. The city has three rivers, Broad, Saluda and Congaree Rivers. Lake Murray is just west of Columbia and has more than 650 miles of shoreline.
JOB SUMMARY: The Optometrist responsibilities include analyzing vision tests, identifying sight problems, and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. Attention to detail and treat all kinds of patients with kindness and discretion, from young children to the elderly.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct eye exams using optometric equipment and general diagnostic interpretation.
Diagnose and treat ocular disease.
Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options.
Answer questions and provide advice to patients regarding vision and optical issues.
Deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions.
Direct staff and assist in the development of the overall practice.
Must comply with all HIPPA and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree.
Must possess a state-issued license for O.D. and optometry.
A minimum of 2 years ‘experience as an Optometrist.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Full-time position with a work schedule of Monday through Friday 7:30am to 5:00pm.
Position operates in a professional office environment requiring minimal physical activity.
