JOB POSTING Practice Description We are board-certified MDs, who have undergone additional fellowship training to further specialize within the field of ophthalmology. Drs. Jacob Brubaker, and Xiongfei Liu are cataracts and glaucoma specialists. Drs. Patricia Sierra, and Samuel Lee are cornea, cataract and refractive surgery specialists. We are a fast paced, anterior segment and cataract practice looking for an Optometrist to join our team in the Sacramento, CA region! SUMMARY The Optometrist will see general ophthalmology, cornea and glaucoma patients in addition to educating patients on cataract surgery, lifestyle lenses and corneal refractive surgery. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Leads clinic to ensure the best patient care for all general ophthalmology, cataract, cornea and glaucoma patients. • Work with the technicians to improve efficiencies in testing and patient work up, in addition to ensuring accurate patient refractions. • Follows the clinical standards of care, including, but not limited to: operating practices and procedure, incident tracking/re...porting, quality maintenance, updating medication protocol, patient, and occupational health and safety. • Interacts with staff and surgeon to ensure full communication between the surgeon and the staff in areas of patient management and medication schedule. • Performs pre and post- operative care for patients and assists doctors with pre and post-operative care when complications arise. • Defines and reports any clinical incidents as necessary. • Assists in other areas as needed. Job Requirements: Licensed Optometrist in the state of CA Anterior segment and refractive surgery residency and/or experience preferred Cataract and refractive surgery experience preferred Desire to be an integral part in providing an exceptional patient experience This role may occasionally be required to work Saturdays.
