History of Practice Our practice started in 1959 by Dr. Howard Flippin who is currently retired from the practice. He currently works as the Executive Director for the Arkansas State Board of Optometry. Dr. Howard Flippin’s daughter, Dr. Patricia Flippin-Westfall joined her father in the Searcy practice in 1999. She currently owns and operates the practice as well as one in Jacksonville, AR. Dr. Westfall specializes in vision therapy and is a fellow of COVD and a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. She is also a past president of the Arkansas Optometric Association. About the Practice Our office is open Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, with extended hours to 6 pm on Tuesdays. Other specialties in the practice include vision therapy. Patient ages range from infants to geriatrics. Lots of diversification in this practice! Total staff for the Searcy location runs around 22 including 4 vision therapists and Dr. Alley Meredith (who will leaving June 2021). We offer state-of-the-art technology for our patients, including Fundus photography, anterior seg photos, OCT, corneal topography, and ERG/VEP technology. Salary and Benefits Salary is a combination of compensation methods, day rate, and productivity. Annual salary with the combined methods averages above $115,000 per year.
