Hero type wanted Schott Associates Eye Care is looking to hire a full-time optometrist for our three-location practice in north central PA. This job is not for those without supreme confidence in their abilities. We are a remote/rural location with the nearest ophthalmologist located approximately a 2 hour round trip drive from some of our locations. This has forced me to practice optometry to the extent of our scope with a loose safety net for referrals. I find the work equal parts challenging and rewarding. My name is Dr. Daniel Schott, and I am the sole owner and employee optometrist of Schott Associates Eye Care. I am a third-generation optometrist with 16 years of clinical experience and 5 years of business management experience. The fact that I am still in the prime of my career allows a lot of flexibility for the future of my practice. I am willing to hire anyone from an entrepreneur type to a professional interested in scaling back and focusing on only the clinical aspects of the work. We are currently progressing through a location renovation and upgrade plan for our locations. We have purchased numerous new pieces of equipment as well as performing renovations floor plans to improve patient flow and office efficiency. This is an ongoing process for any successful practice, and we are approaching the end of our most recent renovation cycle. Within a year the practice will be ‘move in ready’ for any physician to feel appropriately supported. I feel the practice is well positioned for growth. The appointment book is currently over capacity and we have been turning away new patients and curating our vision care plan contracts for the past year or two. We are looking to bring on the new doctor as an employee, not a contracted OD. This would allow the business to cover operating expenses such as malpractice insurance, continuing education and license fees. Employees also have access to our retirement savings and health insurance plans. Starting salary is negotiable depending on past work experience. My daily goal is to improve the quality of healthcare in the region. My mission is to someday fill the “black hole of healthcare in Pennsylvania” as the region has been previously referenced. The healthcare practiced here is not necessarily ‘cutting edge’ or ‘state of the art’, but does require innovation. If you want to come practice in an area where I guarantee your work will be meaningful at the end of the day, then send a resume to drschott@schotteye.com. Thank you for your consideration. |
